# "I cannot perform live web searches in real-time"

I have the exact same issue. This symptom is also reported here by someone else: [`sonar-deep-research` intermittently fails to activate web search via the API - Bug Reports - Perplexity API Platform Forum](https://community.perplexity.ai/t/sonar-deep-research-intermittently-fails-to-activate-web-search-via-the-api/4264/2)

Is this being investigated? I have had to switch to OpenAI’s deep research API in the meantime…
