Hi everyone, total beginner here, please be gentle with me!

So I was trying to hook up an AI tool ( MCP) to my WordPress site because I read it could help me do things faster with a chatbot instead of me clicking around wp-admin all day. I installed a plugin for it, connected it up following a tutorial, and everything seemed fine at first.

But now when I go to log into my WordPress dashboard, the page just keeps spinning and reloading over and over, it never actually lets me in. I’ve tried refreshing, clearing my browser cache, even tried a different browser, and it’s still stuck in this endless loading loop on the login screen.

Wordpress Version : V 7.0.2

Cloudflare Status : Enabled

Wordpress Theme : Kadence WP

Security Plugin : Wordfence

I have no coding background at all, so I’m honestly a bit panicked. Did I break my whole site by connecting this MCP thing? Is there something I need to undo or remove? I can still access my hosting account (cPanel) if that helps, but I don’t really know what I’m looking for in there.

If anyone can explain this in plain, non-techie terms, I would be SO grateful. Thank you in advance.

Hi @thepaulnicoleson,

First of all, I am sorry to hear that this happened. I imagine it’s stressful. To address the issue, you’ll want to go to the support section of the website for the mcp that you used. This particular forum covers only the [Perplexity API MCP Server](https://docs.perplexity.ai/docs/getting-started/integrations/mcp-server).

If you installed, for instance, the WordPress MCP to use with an AI coding tool, you will want to visit the [WordPress MCP](https://github.com/wordpress/mcp-adapter) github repo. Or the [WordPress Developer](https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-org/using-the-mcp-server/) Handbook.

Andrew
