Need Help! Connected "MCP" thing to my WordPress site and now I can't even log into my own dashboard

Hi everyone, total beginner here, please be gentle with me!

So I was trying to hook up an AI tool ( MCP) to my WordPress site because I read it could help me do things faster with a chatbot instead of me clicking around wp-admin all day. I installed a plugin for it, connected it up following a tutorial, and everything seemed fine at first.

But now when I go to log into my WordPress dashboard, the page just keeps spinning and reloading over and over, it never actually lets me in. I’ve tried refreshing, clearing my browser cache, even tried a different browser, and it’s still stuck in this endless loading loop on the login screen.

I have no coding background at all, so I’m honestly a bit panicked. Did I break my whole site by connecting this MCP thing? Is there something I need to undo or remove? I can still access my hosting account (cPanel) if that helps, but I don’t really know what I’m looking for in there.

If anyone can explain this in plain, non-techie terms, I would be SO grateful. Thank you in advance.

Hi @thepaulnicoleson,

First of all, I am sorry to hear that this happened. I imagine it’s stressful. To address the issue, you’ll want to go to the support section of the website for the mcp that you used. This particular forum covers only the Perplexity API MCP Server.

If you installed, for instance, the WordPress MCP to use with an AI coding tool, you will want to visit the WordPress MCP github repo. Or the WordPress Developer Handbook.
