Google Drive connector OAuth window stuck on “One moment please” and closes, cannot attach Google Sheets

Environment

Platform: Perplexity Pro (web)

Browser: Chrome on Windows 11 (also tested Edge)

Connector: Google Drive (standard search)

Google account type: Personal Gmail (not Workspace admin‑restricted)

Issue summary
When I try to connect my Google Drive and attach a Google Sheets file in a Perplexity chat, the Google OAuth popup shows “One moment please…” with the loading spinner and then closes by itself. The connector never finishes the flow, so I cannot reliably attach spreadsheets from Drive into the chat.

Steps to reproduce

Go to Perplexity → Settings → Connectors → Google Drive.

Click “Connect” or “Manage connection”.

In the Google OAuth popup, select my Gmail account.

The popup shows a blank screen with the text “One moment please…” and a spinner.

After a few seconds, the popup closes automatically.

Back in Perplexity, the Drive connector sometimes shows “Connected”, but when I go to a chat → “Upload files or images” → “Add files from cloud” → Google Drive, the file picker tab flashes and disappears. I cannot see or select any Google Sheets file.

Expected behavior

The OAuth popup should complete the sign‑in flow, then close.

The Google Drive connector should remain in a stable “Connected” state.

In a chat, “Add files from cloud → Google Drive” should open the file picker and let me browse and select my Google Sheets (and other Drive files) without the window crashing.

Actual behavior

OAuth popup hangs on “One moment please…” and closes with no error message.

The Drive file picker sometimes flashes open in a new tab/window, then instantly closes.

I cannot attach any Google Sheets file; the only way to use my data is to download as XLSX/CSV and upload manually, which breaks some formulas and formatting.

Troubleshooting already tried

Enabled third‑party cookies and added exceptions for drive.google.com.

Added exceptions for accounts.google.com and reloaded Perplexity.

Cleared cache and cookies for Google/Perplexity domains.

Disabled ad‑blockers, privacy extensions, and VPN.

Tested in Incognito mode (no extensions).

Tested in Edge as well as Chrome.

In all cases, the OAuth popup still shows “One moment please…” then closes, and the Drive picker does not stay open long enough to select a file.

Request

Please help confirm whether this is a known Google Drive connector issue related to the OAuth “One moment please…” loop.

If possible, provide a workaround that keeps formulas/formatting intact (beyond downloading XLSX/CSV).
