Feature Request
Please add the ability for a single Perplexity user profile to connect and actively sync multiple Google accounts.
Problem Statement
Many of us juggle several Gmail addresses—corporate, personal, volunteer, and so on. Perplexity currently permits only one Google integration at a time, so we have to:
-
constantly disconnect → re-authenticate with a different account, or
-
Maintain multiple paid subscriptions to keep each inbox/calendar connected.
This creates friction, breaks conversation context, and undermines one of Perplexity’s biggest strengths—centralizing knowledge across sources.
Proposed Solution
-
Allow users to link multiple Google identities in Settings → Integrations.
-
Provide simple toggles to include/exclude each account in search/context or choose a default.
-
Clearly label content pulled from each account (e.g., color-coded chips or account avatars).
-
Optional: per-account permission scopes so security/IT teams can approve only what’s needed.
I want to be able to instruct Perplexity to set up a meeting through my work email and utilize it to help me manage personal work in my own Google Drive.
API Impact
-
Retrieval and search endpoints would need an optional
account_id
parameter for disambiguation. -
No change to existing single-account workflows—the first linked account becomes the default unless specified.
Alternatives Considered
Workarounds via Make/Pabbly/Zapier can pipe emails into Perplexity, but they:
-
add cost and complexity,
-
can’t leverage Perplexity’s native context window or calendar look-ups,
-
raise security concerns because third parties gain access to email data.
Additional Context
-
Competitor AI assistants (e.g., x.ai, Superhuman with AI) already support multiple-inbox linking—making this a parity feature for power users.
-
This enhancement would unlock a smoother, more secure workflow for anyone who manages multiple roles or organizations—and avoids fragmenting our knowledge base across separate Perplexity logins.
